Marking an unknown patient as known
If a patient is unknown, UNKNOWN displays in the patient banner. When you edit an unknown patient's details from Patient Detail > Edit Details, you can mark the patient as known. You can also mark an unknown patient as known from Patient Detail > Patient admin.
Any patient whose details you don't know can be registered as an unknown patient using a name, date of birth, and gender identity. You can register unknown patients from Patient Detail > Search/Register.

If you merge an unknown patient's record with a known patient's record, you can mark the merged patient record as known.

Marking an unknown patient as known from Edit Details

Open the patient's record.

From Inpatients, select Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

From Outpatients, select Clinic List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

From Patient Detail, select Edit Details.
A form containing fields appears.

Select fields to edit them.
You must complete all mandatory fields. Mandatory fields are marked .

Select Save Changes.
Depending on your organisation, if you changed the patient's marital status, title, or last name, Nervecentre asks if you want to make other changes, or save your current changes. To continue, select No - Save current data.

Select an option.

If the patient is known, select Yes - Mark known.

If the patient is still unknown, select No.

Marking an unknown patient as known from Patient admin

Open the patient's record.

From Inpatients, select Patient List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

From Outpatients, select Clinic List > double-click on a patient's name > Patient Detail.

From Patient Detail > Patient admin, select Mark Patient Known.

Select an option.

If the patient is known, select Yes - Mark known.

If the patient is still unknown, select No.
